Just Play and Le Amosa

Le Amosa and Football Federation Samoa have been working together since 2011 through the FFS Just Play Program to enhance the development of football not only as a sport but as a social tool for students. Since then, FFS prepare and plan sessions every Fridays from 1-2pm for the students during their Physical Education period.
The closing of this year’s festival started with small sided games, followed by presentation of certificates for outstanding players.
Just Play Development officer Nadia Malifa stated: “I’m happy to see the students improve their soccer skills. Some of them weren’t interested in the beginning; however I’ve seen so many students coming to the fields on our Friday programs looking forward to what they will be taught at their sessions.”
Just Play, is a football programme designed for children between the ages of 6 to 12 years old which is currently being implemented in primary schools and communities across the Pacific region.
An agreement between the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture (MESC) and FFS, was signed in May 2010 to collaborate the development of this programme and since its inception, it has been able to reach over 17,000 children across Samoa, all of which took part in the programme through schools and communities.
Le Amosa Principal Donna Fa’anaafi thanked the parents and students for attending their last soccer festival for this year. She also acknowledged the assistance of the FFS Just Play team and CEO for allowing the grounds to be used every Friday.
FFS Just Play Development officer presented gears to Le Amosa principal including soccer balls and hula hoops for students.
The Program will resume beginning of next year.
