Week 7 of Business House Tournament

The FFS Business House competition continues to produce some very interesting results since the competition kicked off on May 22, 2013.
Farmer Joe 3 now sits on top of Pool A with a record of 4 wins and 1 draw leading the table with 13 points, one point ahead of Nesian Gear who takes second place with 12 points. This is a remarkable result for these two teams – both newcomers to the competition this year.
Wednesday evening showed more fine form from the Famer Joe team when they went head to head against the 2012 Cup Champions – NUS staff. The two teams showed no weaknesses as they played some dazzling football – the final result reflective of the tough game, nil all at the final whistle.
Meanwhile, on field 3 the Westpac Bank team was up against Samoa Breweries. Both teams were unable to produce any good results after a slow start, but later in the game a turn of events for the Westpac team put them on a high and they prevailed and defeated the opponent 4-nil.
Another interesting result was when the Apia Concrete Products team managed to defeat Tradepac, one of the semi finalists from last year with 6-3 score line.
This week will be the seventh (7) week of the tournament, and the competition is definitely heating up as we are left with two more weeks of pool play.
The total number of teams that have entered this year’s tournament is 39. Participating in the tournament are teams from government ministries, private companies, multinational corporations and local business.
FFS Chief Executive Officer, Sarai Bareman comments “it is pleasing to see the Business House tournament continue into its fourth year with a great amount of enthusiasm and competitiveness from the participating teams. Some of the newcomers are proving to be really strong teams and it will be very interesting to see who makes it through to the Cup semis and finals.”
