Football Federation Samoa (“FFS”) welcomed their new Chief Executive Officer in a brief ceremony lead by President, Susuga Papalii Samuel L Petaia and Staff on Monday 13 September 2021. Autū Andy Ripley started the role on Monday of the same day and will be at the helm of FFS for 3 years as per his Contract.
“I have a few plans for the next three years and contribute to change and reforms currently underway,” said Autū. Some of these plans include making sure we use the resources given by FIFA and Oceania Football Confederation (“OFC”) effectively to build our team in the office as well as looking at ways to improve the development of football in Samoa. So the plan is to make some transitional change policies and focus on the implementation and delivery of plans so that these changes come into fruition with better and improved results.”
Autū is no stranger to football as he has been involved since 1986 as a national player where he represented Samoa in the Under 16, Under 19 and the Senior Men’s team. As a football administrator, Autu has been the Coach for Samoa’s national team and has played active roles at the local club level.
The CEO role was advertised and received numerous interests. At the end of the recruitment and selection process, Autū was selected and endorsed by the Executive Committee to lead FFS for the next 3 years.
Autū Andy Ripley holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Management from the National University of Samoa, a Diploma in coaching Fitness Education from UNITEC New Zealand and a Diploma in Business Management from Auckland University of Technology. He takes over the FFS CEO role previously held by Seve Dr Folototo Seve.
Autū leaves behind his role of overseeing a family business and hails from Togafu’afu’a Apia.
