HONOURING REAGAN MILSTEIN

Making a difference in others’ lives through Football is what the Reagan Milstein’s foundation work is about. Reagan Milstein was a popular, healthy 14 year old boy from Melbourne Australia. He loved sports, particularly football (soccer), and he wanted more than anything to make the world a better place. Tragically, Reagan never got the chance to realise his dream because at only 14, he was injured in a scuba diving accident and passed away on 22nd July 2010.

On Friday 10th January 2020, Kevin Milstein, Founder of the Reagan Milstein Foundation presented football gear to the President, Board and staff of the Football Federation Samoa (FFS) at the FFS Headquarters in Tuana’imato.

Mr Milstein stated that when his son passed away they wanted to honour him and keep his memory alive through two things that he loved the most – football and people, hence the creation of t the Reagan Foundation.

The Milstein’s were here in 2013 and they stated that they were excited to see the developments in football.

The Reagan Milstein Foundation works with clubs and sports organizations around the world and has reached out to 10 football member association countries in the region.

“In 2018 we asked the 10 Oceania region countries to organize two children each to attend the FIFA World Cup in Russia. It was a successful project for the Reagan Milstein Foundation that we were able to provide such opportunities for the children” says Mr Milstein.

The biggest Reagan Milstein Foundation recipient in the Pacific is Tonga. However Reagan Milstein Foundation stated that they are keen to work in collaboration with Football Federation Samoa in the coming years.

The Reagan Milstein Foundation donation to FFS included sets of uniforms and training bibs.
