TANOA WINS BUSINESS HOUSE TOURNAMENT

The 2020 annual FFS Business house tournament kicked off on the 4th February concluded last evening at the JS Blatter complex.

Two matches took place to determine the winners of the competition. Tanoa Hotel defeated Ministry of Health 5-1 in an entertaining final. As expected of a final, both teams started defensively not wanting to concede an early goal. As the half wore on both teams started creating several scoring opportunities where Tanoa Hotel secured 2 goals.
With the second half underway the odd spectator would have been forgiven to thinking that Tanoa will win the match. However MOH Staff had other ideas, taking a goal in the first few minutes of the last half. With a 2-1 goal advantage Tanoa team were not going to let Ministry of Health come back and they were able to hang on for the win.
The result means that Tanoa Hotel soccer team became the only undefeated team in the 2020 competition. It was also the second time that they have been crowned the champions.
The match for third and fourth place saw Samoa Water Authority (SWA) taking on Vodafone. The match certainly did not disappoint as both teams tactics revolved around going forward and creating many goal-scoring opportunities. In the end however it was Vodafone(Blue-sky) who managed a 3 -2 win, thanks to a man of the match performance by Darren Talilai who scored (all) another 2 goals for Vodafone.
A total of 32 teams participated in the 2020 FFS Business House Tournament after a 5 years absence from FFS competition.
A prize giving was held after finals were the winning teams as well as individual prize recipients awarded with trophies and prize money.
