Magiagi’s Lupe o le Soaga Soccer Club is gearing up for a significant tournament this year which sees them compete in the Second Group Stage Tournament of the Oceania Club Champions League to be held in Tahiti from the 1^st to the 7^th March 2020.

The Magiagi side are representing Samoa in this Oceania Tournament after qualifying in the first Stage that was held in Auckland New Zealand last month. The achievement is notable for the local Soccer Club which is testament to the continuing development of football in the Samoan Premiere League division.

According to their Coach, Fa’aeanu’u Paul Ualesi, the strong side have been training hard following their qualifying success in Auckland last month.

“The first Stage tournament in Auckland earlier this year enabled us to identify our strengths and weaknesses and we have worked hard on improving our game based on the issues we identified.”

The impending second stage tournament is a significant milestone for the Samoan side as they have been placed in a difficult pool going against the undefeated and all time Oceania Champions Auckland City Club and top soccer teams in the Oceania region namely Tahiti and Fiji.

Lupe o le Soaga’s first game will be against the local Tahitians, AS Venus Team which Coach Fa’aeanu’u says will be a competitive and tough match.

“The first game is always the hardest for the team however the side is confident their preparations are sufficient to ensure they perform well. This level of competition is the best in the Oceania with the top Clubs from membership organizations go against the best in the region.”

Lupe o le Soaga will depart Samoa this afternoon for Tahiti and the team list is as follows:
