Cruz Azul won the title

Going into the last round of matches Cruz Azul and Adidas SC were both level on points.
Cruz Azul who had the superior goal difference knew that a win against Moataa SC would all but secure the title. They fulfilled their end of the bargain with a comfortable 3-0 win. Cruz Azul coach Geoffery Strickland was delighted with the win saying “The girls have done very well throughout the season and they deserve the achievement of being the champs. Mr Strickland also added “I would like to congratulate the new-comers to the competition like Adidas SC for coming in second place and making it a tough competition”.
With the winner already decided Adidas SC took the field against Kiwi SC hoping to end the season on a high note. However it was third place Kiwi SC that came out firing by winning the game 3-0. Adidas SC assistant coach Theresa Asiata expressed disappointment with the loss however she explained that “It has been a very good season and we need to give credit to all the girls, we had some injuries to key players towards the end unfortunately”. Looking ahead to the next season Mrs Asiata pointed out “We will come back as a strong team and we look forward to the new season”.
Coming in fourth place Moaula United made light work of Apia Youth winning 5-1 and ending the season which had started in December 2009. The Football Federation of Samoa believes that this competition has been an important tool to the development of the women’s game looking ahead into the future and especially the 2011 South Pacific games.
