Just Play Clubs Coaching Workshop

The purpose of the workshop is to prepare and organize the 13 selected football club coaches on planning and delivering sessions for children through the Just play programme. Just Play Project Manager, Lynette Laumea-Fa’aiuso stated “we covered primary schools from 7 districts in Upolu and Savaii. Since the schools are having examinations this term at this time, we decided to take our program to the community.
The 13 selected clubs are all involved in our annual activities therefore our aim through this workshop is to utilize our program to develop football in the grassroots level.”
Just Play, is a football programme designed for children between the ages of 6 to 12 years old which is currently being implemented in primary schools and communities across the Pacific region.
In Samoa, an agreement between the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture (MESC) and FFS, was signed in May 2010 to collaborate the development of this programme and since its inception, it has been able to reach over 17,000 children across Samoa, all of which took part in the programme through their schools.
The workshop participants will go back to their clubs and deliver session’s to help out with the development of football in their different Clubs. The Coaches who participated in the workshop will be assessed by the Just Play team every week as part of their monitoring and evaluation.
The workshop ends today with the presentation of gears to all the club members participating in the course to help with their practical sessions.
