Kiwi wins Cup Competition

Both teams created chances, but it was Kiwi who dominated the game and made their opportunities count. Kiwi used their size as an advantage and pushed the pace of the game right from the whistle. Moaula was without the Cup Competition’s leading scorer To’o Goshe, who was sitting out due to a red card suspension.
The game started out quickly with Kiwi and Moaula trying to establish dominance. Both teams were battling hard to make every chance count. Midway through the first half Kiwi player Lionel Taylor took a chance on a long shot and got lucky when the Moaula keeper mishandled the ball in a rare mistake. Later in the half Kiwi scored another goal to make it 2-0 at half time.
Moaula came back late in the second half on a misplay by the keeper the Kiwi to make it 2-1. After the goal, Moaula was charged up and looking for the equalizer. Tensions were high as both teams looked for a win. With six minutes left in the game, Kiwi scored the clinching goal to make it 3-1.
Kiwi Captain Martin Tamasese explained “It was a tough game for us to win, but we prepared ourselves well before the game. We worked hard on our fitness the week before the game. We knew that Mouala play a very fast and attacking game so our fitness had to be good if we were to have any chance”.
In other games on Saturday, Goldstar Sogi FC played Moataa Soccer Club in the plate final. Tominiko Tokuma led the scoring with 3 goals to give Goldstar Sogi FC the 4-2 win. Adidas won the bowl final.
