Rebrand signals new direction for Samoan football

Formerly known as the Samoa Football (Soccer) Federation, the administration has been through a challenging period recently with FIFA setting up a normalisation committee in December 2008 to administer and manage football in the country.
Over the past 12 months the committee, led by Interim Chairman Colin Tuaa, has successfully overseen the development of new statutes, the renovation of its headquarters, the launch of a national identification process and an increase of activities from the grassroots level right through to topflight national leagues.
To cap it off, the committee has now announced a new name and logo. Effective immediately, Samoa will operate under the name of Football Federation Samoa (FFS).
The federation’s 12 member clubs approved the new name and logo during the recent Special General Meeting held at J.S Blatter Football Complex.
Tuaa says the initiative symbolises a new beginning for the federation in its mission to develop Samoan football.
“The rebranding of Samoa football with a new name and logo continues our excellent progress under normalisation. To get to this point is very satisfying and it truly does feel like a new beginning for Samoa football,” said Tuaa.
