Final remarks for our Men’s U-17 Team

The Taumeasina Island Resort graciously hosted a dinner for the Samoa U17 Football Team that will be heading to Tahiti for the upcoming OFC U17 Championship to be held from the 11th – 24th February 2017.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Sports and Culture Loau Solamalemalo Keneti Sio was present and delivered some words of encouragement to the team. He urged them to use the opportunity wisely. “You are all still young, now’s the time to become a hero and an inspiration to other youngsters. Pray, train hard, work hard, fight for the best, you never know maybe in the next four to five years you will be contracted to one of the elite clubs in Europe so ensure that you make use of the opportunity now”.

Coach Desmond Fa’aiuaso stated that he is confident that he has selected the best team; he will not make any promises but believes this is an excellent opportunity to showcase the level of football in Samoa.

The two top teams from Championship will progress to the FIFA U17 World Cup which will be held in the India in October this year.
