FFS educate Goal Keeping Coaches


Goal keeping is important because scoring and stopping goals with the last line of field finds the Goal Keeper.

Football Federation Samoa completed the three days Member Association Certificate in Goal keeping on Thursday 30th May 2019.

The three day’s course focused on the Goal keeper and its role, the Coach on how to plan and prepare a session and how to support the Goal Keeper and there development through training’s.

OFC Goal Instructor James Bayne conducted the course and outline the importance of educating the Goal keeper coaches and players.

“I think the commitment from everyone on the course was exciting, we made a really good progress. We need to get down to the work and identify and work with young goal keepers on the right things and we can make a great progress in our Young Samoans goal keepers. We still have a lot of work to do, we need to ensure that the goal keepers have the support they need, Bayne added.

Goal keeping course concluded the Weekend long courses offered by FFS to clubs in Upolu and Savaii to prepare for the upcoming Youth and Senior league.
