Upolu Senior League a success

Despite the Covid 19 restrictions FFS 2020 Upolu Senior league competition has been one of the most successful tournaments in the FFS competition calendar.  The tournament kicked off in early August and concluded this morning with the presentation of prize’s to participating clubs in Upolu.

Champions for Premier Women’s, Premier Men’s and First Division – 2020

FFS President Papali’i Samuel Leslie Petaia spoke on behalf of the Executive Committee and the Federation to thank the participating clubs and everyone who contributed to the tournament.

“The tournament has been a success despite the many challenges we face due to Covid 19 restrictions.  I want to thank all the management, players, coaches, referees, FFS staff and supporters for making this tournament possible. As one of FFS goals is to develop our core clubs and at the same time driving the game to rural areas thus not forget our objective of developing our players for our National teams in the coming years.

Special thanks to our international federation FIFA and OFC for the financial assistance as we have invested in a lot of things to develop our clubs.

The 2020 Upolu National League tournament is one of FFS core competition were the winner of the Premier Men’s Division represent Samoa in the OFC Club Championship tournament.

New Club: University of the South Pacific

Two new clubs registered in this year’s tournament and FFS wish to have more clubs joining the competition in the upcoming years.
