In 2011, FIFA implemented an initiative to support the development of Women’s Football around the world.

A year ago, this initiative was put in to practice by the Football Federation Samoa to push and enhance women’s participation in Football.
Tuesday 20th September 2016 was the final day of the two days tournament that was hosted by FFS for 3 participated schools in Upolu whilst the Savaii Women’s College tournament kicks off this at the FFS Regional fields in Iva.
New to the Tournament, Leififi College team took on Pesega for the finals, saw a tremendous 7 nil score after final whistle.

It was a disappointing end to the tournament for the Pesega team. Putting chances away and was made to pay for small laps in concentration, but the girls were incredibly proud of their appearance in this year’s tournament.
The Upolu Women’s College Tournament is an annual activity, and FFS looks forward of having more teams in next year’s tournament.
